This annual winter release from High West has become a ritual for rye lovers, arriving each year as the seasons turn inward. A Midwinter Night’s Dram begins as a blend of straight rye whiskeys, then rests in French oak port barrels, where time and cold weather deepen its character before bottling.

The result is layered and expressive. Aromas open with dried berries, spiced orange peel, dark honey, and seasoned oak. On the palate, rye spice intertwines with port driven richness, offering notes of fig, cocoa, mulled wine spice, and toasted grain. The finish is long, warming, and contemplative, carrying sweet fruit, baking spice, and a gentle oak dryness that lingers like the last lines of a well loved play.
